  • 2 tbsp ground cinnamon
  • ½ cup mini chocolate chips (optional)
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened (for frosting)
  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract (for frosting)
  • 24 tbsp milk (for frosting)

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine 2 cups of flour, sugar, yeast, baking powder, and salt.
  2. In another bowl, mix warm milk, melted butter, egg, red food coloring, and vanilla extract; combine with dry ingredients.
  3. Gradually add remaining flour until a soft dough forms; knead for 5–7 minutes.
  4. Let the dough rise in a warm place for about an hour or until doubled.
  5. Mix softened butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon for the filling.
  6. Roll out dough into a rectangle; spread filling evenly and add optional chocolate chips.
  7. Roll tightly into a log and slice into 12 rolls; let rise again for about 30 minutes.
  8. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 25–30 minutes until golden brown.
  9. While baking, prepare the cream cheese frosting by mixing softened cream cheese and butter with powdered sugar and vanilla.
