  • 1 can (14 oz) crushed tomatoes
  • 1 cup heavy cream or coconut milk
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon ground coriander
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ½ teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon sugar (optional, balances acidity)
  • ¼ cup chopped cilantro (for garnish)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice (for finishing)

Instructions

  1. Marinate chicken in Greek yogurt, lemon juice, and spices for at least 60 minutes.
  2. Cook marinated chicken in a skillet over medium-high heat until golden brown. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, sauté onions until translucent. Add garlic and ginger until fragrant.
  4. Stir in spices followed by tomato paste and crushed tomatoes. Simmer for 10 minutes.
  5. Add cream or coconut milk; mix well. Return chicken to skillet and simmer until heated through.
  6. Garnish with cilantro and serve hot with rice or naan.
