Ingredients

  • 1 Tbsp. softened butter
  • 1 Tbsp. olive oil
  • 1/2 white onion, finely diced
  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 Tbsp. yellow mustard
  • 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 tsp. kosher salt
  • pepper, to taste
  • 1 pack dinner rolls, 12 count
  • 16 slices American cheese
  • 3 Tbsp. butter, melted
  • pinch of salt and garlic powder
  • 2 tsp. white sesame seeds
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 2 Tbsp. sweet pickle relish
  • 2 tsp. sugar
  • 1 tsp. distilled white vinegar
  • salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F.
  2. Butter a baking sheet and set aside.
  3. In a sauté pan, heat olive oil and cook diced onions until softened. Add ground beef, breaking it up as it cooks. Drain excess fat.
  4. Mix in garlic, Worcestershire sauce, yellow mustard, salt, and pepper.
  5. Layer the bottom halves of dinner rolls on the baking sheet, followed by cheese slices and the beef mixture. Top with more cheese.
  6. Cover with roll tops and brush with melted butter mixed with garlic powder and salt. Sprinkle sesame seeds on top.
  7. Bake for 12–15 minutes until warmed through and cheese is melted.
  8. Prepare the burger sauce by mixing mayonnaise, ketchup, relish, sugar, vinegar, salt, and pepper in a bowl until smooth.
  9. Serve warm with your homemade burger sauce.
