  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 large egg

  • 3/4 teaspoon red food coloring
  • For the glaze: 1 cup powdered sugar

  • 12 tablespoons milk

  2. Gradually mix in flour and salt until combined.
  3. Divide dough in half; color one half with red food coloring.
  4. Chill both halves wrapped in plastic for at least 1 hour.
  5. Preheat oven to 375°F.
  6. Roll one tablespoon from each color into strips; twist together and place on lined baking sheets.
  7. Chill shaped cookies for another 15 minutes before baking for 10-12 minutes until lightly golden.
  8. For the glaze, mix powdered sugar with peppermint extract and milk; drizzle over cooled cookies.
