  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp kosher salt
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
  • 1 1/2 cups finely diced Honeycrisp or Gala apples
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/3 cup + 2 tbsp apple cider or juice

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F and grease a nonstick baking sheet.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.
  3. In a large bowl, mix melted butter and sugar until smooth; add egg, vanilla extract, and applesauce.
  4. Combine dry ingredients with wet ingredients gently; fold in diced apples.
  5. Scoop portions onto the prepared baking sheet.
  6. Bake for about 10 minutes; then prepare the glaze by whisking powdered sugar with apple cider until drizzling consistency.
  7. Glaze warm fritter bites and broil briefly to caramelize the top.
